The best present Nica Brooke ever got was a portable tape player at the age of five. She carried it everywhere and recorded everything – including her first original song called, “Playing my Guitar Underneath the Stars” while she strummed the un-tuned, open strings. Right before singing her first solo at the age of nine, the boy she had a vicious crush on said, “Don’t crack!” She blushed furiously and luckily didn’t crack… After the performance a very kind, jolly stranger approached her and said, “We know what she’s going to be when she grows up!”

Twenty years later she’s singing her heart out on recordings and stages around the world. Her lyrics contain adventures of the spiritual and romantic journeys she’s taken through her life.  After being mentored by the wonderful singer/songwriter/producer/DJ Rithma,  she started producing herself.  She’s now working with a Grammy Award winning producer (Don Mizell) for her next solo album release, “Under My Skin”.
